The story begins
Raised from a whisper in the wind
My ‘once upon’

Scene faded in
Tied my beginning to an end
And I begun

A child carried in
The wounds are cried away
A wind in my sails
And I can run

Freed from the inside
Spilt out and transcribed
Scored for all
Then under a fading light
Reach in the shadows
Unmask a stranger
Hear the pounding heart
Intruder
When do the crimes fit the sentence
Stolen those riches
Safe-guarded treasures
Under the bed

Told for the only time
A small voice in all this
Turned in the soil
Hear the words rise
Into a spark of life
The ash covered Sun
The fractures of heartbreak
Healed again
Just words
A better end
